When: Annually in January. January 17 – 19th, 2013
Where: Eilat, Israel
In 2013 the 3rd annual Red Sea Winter Jazz Festival will be held in the beach resort city of Eilat on the shore of the red Sea. The festival is a winter version of the Summer Red Sea Jazz Festival which is in its 27th year. The festival features artists performing in a number of jazz styles. Both professional greats and up-and-coming jazz artists perform at the festival including several legendary names in the jazz world.
One of the most popular events during the festival is the jam season where both members of the audience and the musicians participating in the festival can jam together and create music. Other events during the festival include the nightly parties, master classes and concerts.
Each day of the festival there are 3 performances starting with a free show at 7pm with performances by up-and-coming Israeli jazz bands. The performances will be held in three venues Piamenta, Kaminsky and Gottried with the local Eilat hotels also hosting events during the festival. Although the official program for the 2013 festival is not yet out we can expect artists such as the Brothers for Brotherhood, Tango Negro Trio and Kora Jazz Band who have all performed at past festivals. Ticket prices range from NIS120 for a single concert to NIS1,100 for the entire festival.
