Fun Things to Do in Jerusalem this Hanukkah

This year Hanukkah will be celebrated from Wednesday November 27th to Thursday December 5th and with Israeli school kids being on holiday there are a number of special events being put on for the holidays. Here is just a small sample of the special events in Jerusalem during Hanukkah.

24th, 25th, 27th and 28th November

 7pm, 9:15pm, Opera in the Gallery, Israel Museum

An opera concert which takes the audience through the museum stopping at various points for performances. The performance includes opera singers, piano and a string trio. Throughout Hanukkah there will be daily workshops for kids in the Ruth Youth Wing of the Israel Museum.

27th November

08:30pm – Boogie Dance Party, Gerard Behar Center, 11 Bezalel Street, Jerusalem

29th November,

10 am – Farmer’s Market (Shuk HaIkarim), Tarbut Amim, Emek Refaim, German Colony, Jerusalem

Here you can find fresh produce and upstairs enjoy live musical performances and see art exhibitions.

9:45am & 12:30pm, Dorato Circus – Shyoooo, Jerusalem Theatre (Sherover Theatre)

An international circus performance with many performers who get the audience involved in a journey through fantasy experiences.

29th November – 31st December

8am-5pm, Retroshalayim – Antiques/vintage/Second Hand Fair, Agrippas Pedestrian Zone

Pick up a bargain at this fair where stalls sell retro, vintage, antique and second-hand goods including furniture, clothing and collectables.

30th November

8:30pm, Frank Sinatra, Khan Theatre, Jerusalem

Tenor Yisrael Lutnick accompanied by Haim Tukachinsky on piano and Regev Baruch on drums performs the classic songs of Sinatra. The show incorporates stories about the singer’s life and humor as Lutnick takes you through Sinatra’s life from the 1920s to 1930s.

4th December

 12 noon & 6:45pm, Snow White and the Hunter, Jerusalem Theatre (Sherover Theatre), 20 Marcus Street, Rehavia, Jerusalem

 This is one of the traditional Hannnuka spectacular musical shows for all the family. Prepare yourselves for bright costumes, colorful props and some of the country’s biggest stars.
