Dance teachers, performers and enthusiasts gather each year on the edge of the Dead Sea to take part in one of the most uniquely Middle Eastern festivals in Israel – the Ya-Salam Belly Dance Festival. The festival has been held annually since 2005 and attracts participants and spectators from around the world. During the festival there are dance shows, workshops and belly dance parties with live performers. As part of the festival an amateur stage will provide space for dancers of all levels to show their talent, interested dancers should register beforehand.

Among the guest teachers this year is a belly dance teacher from Morocco as well as well known Israeli teachers like Tamar Bar-Gil, Dorit Arobas and Sigal Ziv and the Orly Portal Dance Company. There are events suited to novices and professional dances as well as those who simply want to watch. During the workshops top belly dance teachers who specialize in a range of styles will teach participants their own unique techniques. This is an excellent opportunity to visit the Dead Sea, one of the world’s most impressive natural sites, as well as experience a truly Middle Eastern style of dance.
